Checklists
Room checklists for homes that need to reset quickly.
Entryway landing zone
- A single “drop zone” for keys, bags, and parcels
- One shoe strategy (hidden, open, or mixed—choose intentionally)
- Lighting that makes the entry feel calm at night
- A weekly reset ritual that takes under 10 minutes
Rest-first bedroom
- Two lighting layers minimum (soft + task)
- Visual closure for clutter (baskets, cabinets, or “one shelf rule”)
- Screen and work surface boundaries
- Bedside reach zones that reduce nightly friction
Multipurpose zoning
- Decide the primary mode (work, rest, play, hosting)
- Use rugs / lamps / shelving to create boundaries
- Reduce open storage in the “calm zone”
- Make one corner the “reset anchor” so the room closes each night
